The heart of an Igbo marriage
Before family, kindred and kings, the bride carries a cup of palm wine to seek her groom in the gathering. When she finds him and they drink together, two families are joined for life.
It is the marriage itself — not a rehearsal for one. We would be honoured to have you witness it.

The kola rite
Kola opens every Igbo gathering. "He who brings kola brings life" — a blessing spoken over everyone present.
Igba Nkwu
The wine carrying is the marriage itself. Cheer loudly when the bride finds her groom — that is the moment.
Spraying
Guests shower the dancing couple with notes as a blessing of abundance. Bring small bills and a light heart.

Where to Stay

Adazi-Ani sits in the green heart of Anambra, a short drive from the state capital, Awka. Below are places we're happy to recommend across a few budgets. October is a lively season — we suggest booking early.
Getting there
The nearest airports are Asaba International (about 65 km) and Enugu International (about 90 km), both connected by road to Awka. From Awka, Adazi-Ani is roughly a 30–40 minute drive. If you'd like help arranging airport pickup or group transport, reach the family through the RSVP page and we'll gladly assist.
